Gosaikunda
Gosaikunda is the alpine freshwater lake in Langtang National Park. The lake is considered to be holy for it is created by Lord Shiva when he shoved his trident into a mountain to draw water and cool his throat after swallowing poison. Due to this religious incident, the lake is seen as a sacred Hindu religious site. In fact, thousands of devotees visit Gosainkunda during Janai Purnima (full moon festival in August.)
