Day 01: Arrive Paro
Assemble at IGI Airport to board Druk Air flight for Paro. On arrival meet Destinations Beyond India representative for hotel check in. After lunch, visit ruins of Drugyel Dzong, the fort of the victorious drukpas. Here, Tibetans were defeated and Bhutan earned its lost glory. The ruins are seen here as a symbol of national integrity. Drive back to see the local shops, Dinner and overnight in Paro.
Day 02 : Paro to Thimphu
In the morning, visit the National Museum and see the ancient armours and artifacts housed in an ancient watchtower. Then drive to Thimpu (approx. 02hrs), the capital of Bhutan which lies at an altitude of 7,500 feet in a fertile valley traversed by the Thimphu Chhu river. Arrive and check in hotel. Next, visit the Great Memorial Chorten built in memory of his late Majesty, King lime Dorje Wangchuk by his mother, the royal grandmother. Another interesting visit to Trashichho Dzong, the center of Bhutan’s royalty. Next in the series is handicrafts emporium to see the exquisite artistry of traditional crafts and textiles. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 03 : Thimphu to Punakha /Wangdi back to Thimphu
After an early breakfast, drive over Dochula pass (3,100 m) to have extensive views of snow capped mountaintops to Punakha valley, the old capital of Bhutan. Punakha Dzong can be visited only when the monks are in Thimphu. Next in the day short drive top Wangdi Phodrang valley just local shops. Then drive back to Thimphu. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 04 : Thimphu
Visit the National Library to witness a vast collection of ancient Buddhist Manuscripts, the School of Thangkha Painting and the Traditional Medicine Institute. Post lunch, visit the Post Office where to see a beautiful collection of stamps. In the afternoon, you could visit the Textile museum and the Zangdopelri Monastery. Evening leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 05 : Thimphu to Paro Exit
Early morning drive to Paro airport to catch your flight for the next destination.
